Clarion Hotel Park Avenue South, Manhattan NYC - Hotel near Times Square, Broadway Theater District, Grand Central Station, Subway.

I was looking on a travel website for a budget hotel in Manhattan (south of 110 Street) and to my surprise, the Clarion Park Avenue popped up with a very competitive rate.

I was amazed because Park Avenue South between 29th and 30th is a great location. Granted it's another world from the Park Avenue of the Waldorf-Astoria, but the Clarion's location is really convenient.

Besides location, the Clarion Park Avenue boasts many amenities that may not be expected of a budget hotel.

I was shocked when the front desk agent told me about the free continental breakfast. Free internet, cable television, and a comfortable bed sealed the deal.

The hotel is very safe, well lit, and clean. While I was staying there, many of the other guests appeared to be international tourists.

The room was very tiny by normal American standards. I would call it "European boutique" style. In fairness, the front desk agent told me that this particular room is marketed as a single room only. Two people could have probably fit into the bed if they cuddled.

All in all, I was pleasantly surprised with my experience at the Clarion Park Avenue. I felt that the hotel provided a good value and I slept great.
